Magnolia ‘Little Gem’

Magnolia grandiflora 'Little Gem' is a compact variety of evergreen magnolia, highly valued for small gardens, urban courtyards and elegant decorative plantings.

• Crown: pyramidal, dense, well branched

 Flowers

• Color: white-cream

• Size: large (10–15 cm), slightly smaller than the classic Magnolia grandiflora

• Perfume: intense, sweet

• Flowering period: May–July, with sporadic flowers until autumn

 Leaves

• Appearance: shiny, dark green on the face

• Reversal: rust-brown

• Persistent all year round (decor and winter)

 Planting requirements

• Exposure: full sun or partial shade

• Soil: fertile, well drained, slightly acidic

• Watering: regular, especially in the first years after planting

• Resistance: good in frost (approx. –18 / –20°C), suitable for the climate of Moldova and Romania

 Maintenance

• requires minimal cuts, only for shape or removal of dry branches

• it is recommended mulching base to maintain moisture

• light fertilization in the spring
