Chamaecyparis Blue Surprise

Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Blue Surprise' is a decorative conifer prized for its blue-silver color and compact shape. Here are some essential details:

• Appearance: It has a columnar or conical shape, dense, with slightly twisted branches, covered with fine, bluish needles.

• Dimensions: At maturity it can reach about 2–3 m in height and 1–1.5 m in width, remaining relatively compact for gardens or urban landscaping.

• Growth Rate: It grows moderately, about 15 cm per year, which makes it easy to maintain.

• Exposure: It prefers sun or partial shade, but the blue color stands out best in full sun.

• Soil: It requires a well-drained, slightly acidic, fertile and moderately moist soil.

• Care: Resistant to wind and low temperatures. Pruning is not strictly necessary, but can be done for shape or to remove dead branches.

'Blue Surprise' is ideal for hedges, groups of conifers in ornamental gardens or landscaping projects, thanks to its special color and elegant shape.
