Chamaecyparis Aurea

Chamaecyparis erecta 'Aurea' is a dwarf, ornamental conifer, appreciated for its compact shape and the golden color of its needles. Here are concise and useful details about it:

• Shape: Conical-compact, dense, with vertical branches; slow growth.

• Height: Up to 1–1.5 m after 10–15 years.

• Width: 0.5–1 m, suitable for small gardens or as an accent in arrangements.

• Foliage: Intense gold, becomes greener in shadier areas or in winter; needles are fine, prickly to the touch.

• Exposure: Full sun to partial shade; golden colors keep better in the sun.

• Soil: Fertile, well drained; tolerates slightly acidic soil.

• Watering: Moderate; does not tolerate water stagnation.

• Care: Rare cuts, just to keep the shape; frost resistant and suitable for temperate climates.

• Usage: Ideal for rocky gardens, rockeries, containers, borders or as ornamental solitary specimens.
